Todd waited outside of the coffee shop silently. It was cold, and the winter wind blew a frigid current of air across his face and chest, which was slightly exposed with his jacket unzipped slightly. He didn’t care though. He brushed his hair back and grimaced at everything going through his mind. He clenched his fingers around the cup in front of him and found himself staring at the table darkly. His phone was beside the cup, as if waiting to ring or be used. The underground parts of the city were a maze of winding tunnels, caverns, and districts. The districts were divided by use and prejudice. There were market districts; large and easily accessable areas that were more well lit by overhead lights that allowed people to purchase goods and services easily. There were living districts, where people set up sheltered and underground apartments. There were recreation districts, which were preserved for fun, games, and activity; after all doing nothing with your time could grow maddening. But none of these districts were what Rachel was looking for. Deeper into the tunnels was a nearly forgotten corner known as the ‘Freak District.’ Some individuals who were touched more fiercely by the Storms than others often ended up here. Though human in mind, their bodies had mutated or changed to the point that they couldn’t be accepted by regular society. Three months passed in the Kingdom of Maiyoh…if such a title could even be given to such a place now. The valley that once was home to a bustling, prosperous city, was now a massive lake, with only a handful of structures poking out of the churning water to remind the world a city once was there. Dark clouds hung over the land that angrily poured out their wrath upon the people. When the rivers tried to carry water away and receive it, the storms would spring up anew. Half of Maiyoh was drowned; the other half clinging to driftwood and boats to stay alive. The people fed on fish, sea birds, and sometimes each other. But the ones truly feasting were the scavengers and gulls who swooped upon bloated bodies and fed on them hungrily. Sharks began to circulate the town, feasting on the drowned and the struggling. When a poor soul fell over into the water, it was a death sentence. The people pleaded, floating to the only building that remained standing and imposing over the sea around it

Kim stirred, the sensation of wind blowing past her face and hair causing a tickling sensation on her nose as loose strands of her hair whisked lazily past her. She winced and shook her head, lifting it up to see where the draft was coming from…only to be met with a terrifying sight. She was on the head of the Statue of Liberty! It was unmistakable! The large green and hard top of the statue felt cold and tacky under her as she screamed and started to get up, her legs trembling. Surrounding her on all sides was the sea. She could see the city of lights blinking and winking at her in the distance, and she looked to her right to see the large arm of the statue holding up its torch to the sky. The surface level always felt cold somehow. It was strange, but Rachel always felt an urge to bundle up when she wasn’t below ground. Ever since the start of the Storms, most of society had tried to move civilization underground into catacombs, tunnels, and bunkers to hide from the ever present threats. But buildings couldn’t just move, so what remained of the city was a hellscape. An empty ghostly void where the only sounds that met you was the wind moaning on the empty and abandoned buildings, the occasional moan or growl of a dog or animal, and sometimes gun fire from a Ranger Unit that had engaged a loose monster or zombie. As the Ranger team climbed out of the truck within the safety of the city walls, Rachel felt that same sense of chill roll over her as she walked around, checking for any anomalies. The night was cold, and Kim was bundling up in her jacket to keep warm. She shivered to herself and hurried to the agreed meeting point. 1941 Kirk St. It was a run down old shack of a building. There were boards on a few windows, and it looked practically abandoned; maybe even condemned. But this was where Ricky said he would wait for her. She just hoped that he wasn’t bullshitting her. She hadn’t come unprepared though. The Chief’s warnings still played in her mind as she approached the building. She had her weapon hidden beneath her coat, ready in case anything funny happened. She also wasn’t alone. Walking beside her, yawning tiredly, was Officer Grayson. He was a mousy haired fellow in his mid 40’s. Lazy and a bit of a doofus to a few in the precinct, but he did like Kim. He was always sneaking peeks at her when she walked by, and anyone with eyes could see that he fancied her. Too bad for him, she thought, he wasn’t her type. He knew it too. But that didn’t stop him from trying.

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Mika and Kuri!

My name is Cliff and I welcome you all to this amazing new account! This account is run and operated by myself and my dear friend Mika.

Mika and I are two very close friends who met a few months ago. Mika is one of the most talented young artists you will ever meet! Her work is fantastic and she is an amazingly sweet person.

I myself am a writer. I write stories of all genres and types. I also write poems and other such things.

When we first met, we both began doing works together! It started with a story called I Live With A Witch and it just kept going from there. After a while, we decided to actually create an account dedicated to our combined efforts and projects. Thus, this account was created. This is where Mika and I will upload stories and pictures that go hand in hand with each other. I write the stories and she draws pictures.

Okay...now I'm sure that you have two big questions...so I'll answer them here:

Q. Do you take requests?

A. Yes and no. If you want Mika and I to write a story with a picture to it, then we will do that. If you want a STORY and not a picture, then go to my other site GabrielRaven. If you want a PICTURE and not a story, then you can go to Mika's site at XxPhantomRiderxX. Howeve,r this site is specfically for our joint projects.

Q. What kind of stories/pictures are you guys going to do?

A. So far we have a few projects in the works and they're really fun so far! If you have requests for the two of us, then we will definitley take a look at them.

I think that's all that needs to be shared for now. Mika may have some stuff to add later, but for now, that's the news from us! Hahaha!

I Can't...

I know I promised that I'd finish Metamorphosis this spring, and a couple of you have pointed out that I didn't do it. You're right...though not for lack of trying. Every time I tried to write out an ending, it just felt wrong...everything felt wrong about it. I have no ending. It's a story dead in the water. Every time I came back to it to try and figure it out, it just hurt. The story reminds me too much of Mika...she and I worked hard on it through most of its existence, and when I retconned so much of it early on, I ruined the story beyond repair. Now? I just can't even look at it without feeling ashamed. I'm sorry guys...I can't do it. If you're a big fan of Metamorphosis, I do apologize. I know how this is probably a huge disappointment. But now that I'm actually making money on Youtube, and now that I have a big paying job, focusing on this story is just not beneficial. It dredges up bad memories of a bygone friendship, it hurts to reread because of how good it was and how bad

Metamorphosis to be Completed this Spring

Well...I'm finally doing it. I'm going to finish this godforsaken story. I've glared at it from across the fence for far too long now. I've grown to resent this story...grown to fear it, in fact. I hate it with a passion I can't describe. Not because I don't like this story, but because I hate what I've done to it, and I can't stand the idea that people only read it now and praise me for it because it teases a fetish or interest of the audience. I swore I'd never become that kind of writer. I wanted to write stories that challenge the reader...that are intellectually profound or intriguing. I knew that I'd messed this story up beyond repair, and yet so few have told me so! Many still read it, and some ask me to continue it with certain additions in the end that make me squirm with discomfort. But I shouldn't hate the story for this...I know I shouldn't. I've come this close to finishing it, and it feels like I'm dragging my feet to get it done. But I've decided it's time to just

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while. I'll fill you in on what's been going on real quick and then get into my announcements. So I've moved out of my apartment and am in the process of moving back into my parents house until I can find a new apartment or house close to my work. Since I may be going to Japan to work in the near future (near future in this case meaning 'a year or so') I don't want to make any major payments on a house unless I'm sure Japan ISN'T in my future...so the process of picking a new living place has been hard. Why did I move out? Two words: BED. BUGS. They're all over my bedroom and in my clothes and carpet. The apartment complex has done next to NOTHING to fix the problem and it's been three weeks. I'm most displeased. They will not see my next check if I have anything to say about it. :( But that's not the only problem I've had. Money is tight. I have no job and have been looking for work. I've not heard back from three of the jobs I've applied for and

Hey there Cliff. It has been a long while since we've actually spoke (although more or less seen each other via messenger in a group chat) and I do hope you are doing alright. For a while now and I have been taking some time getting it through but I have been hard at work with a fanfiction that I've had an idea for, for years that only just recently as of 2019, a series that I have held near and dear to my heart since really looking into the series' manga/anime back in 2008/9 and personally I feel like I needed to have a passion project. I could use a set of eyes on what you think of it, a writer's perspective, I can't really say that I am all that good with writing as I am positive that there's some mistakes that I had caught and fixed myself but at the very least I am more than confident that this is actually better than my first story which is technically a side story of a friend of mine's series he is working on (and still is) as I am sure I wasn't as observant as I am now.
